Steve Campion

Born and raised south of Lake Okeechobee in sunny Florida, Steve came to Gainesville in order to follow his passion for news. Steve has called North Central Florida home for almost five years and wouldn't have it any other way.

Steve is very proud to call himself a Florida Gator. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Florida in May 2010. He received a Bachelor's of Science in Telecommunication-News and a Bachelor's of Arts in Political Science. In addition, he received a minor in European Union Studies. During his time at UF, Steve reported, anchored, and produced for WUFT-TV in Gainesville. He also reported for WUFT-FM and 850-AM.

In the summer of 2009, Steve got a taste of big city news as an intern with WTVJ-TV in Miami. He spent the summer working and learning how fast paced a newsroom can be. From writing scripts to following reporters, Steve soon realized this was the job for him.

Steve loves the water so you'll often find him in one of North Central Florida's amazing springs. While he misses his hometown of Deerfield Beach and the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, he doesn't mind exchanging salt water for fresh water. He is excited to see what stories will unfold in North Central Florida and what tomorrow may bring.
