Chris Price
Maybe it's just coincidence, but in the three years that Chris Price has been a part of the WCJB Sports team, the Florida Gators have won four major national championships, becoming the first-ever simultaneous holder of the college football and basketball national championships.
Like we said probably coincidence.
But TV 20's weekend sports anchor is happy to take advantage of his good fortune.
“I count my blessings every day, and it is truly a blessing to start my career here in this community,” says Chris. In addition to following the Gators to places like Glendale, Arizona and Indianapolis, Chris also says he enjoys reporting on all of the other local sports around North Central Florida.
“The first story I reported on was a high school softball player in Williston,” Chris says, “and I've always enjoyed getting in the car, driving to all of the great places that make up North Central Florida and sharing in the lives of some great athletes.”
Sports have always been a part of Chris' life. Growing up in Mandeville, Louisiana, Chris played several sports but settled on tennis, and played four years of collegiate tennis at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating cum laude from Trinity, Chris moved to Gainesville for an internship and has been here ever since.
Chris lives in Gainesville with his dog Ender, and on his days off, you might find him at the dog park, on the tennis court, or even working on finding another story.
“My goal is to try and tell as many stories as possible that people care about locally. And if a teams wins a national championship or a player wins the Heisman Trophy in the process, then that's fine by me.”
Gotta be a coincidence. |
