ANGELO CARUSO

Angelo Caruso is thrilled to be a part of the WCJB News Team, joining Gainesville's Local News Leader as a Weekend Sports Anchor. After spending almost a year in Columbus, GA at WTVM, Angelo makes the trip back to the Sunshine State in the heart of Gator Nation.

 Originally from West Palm Beach, FL, Angelo always wanted to be under the bright lights, studying theatre in high school at Dreyfoos School of the Arts. That led him to being accepted to one of the best theatre programs in the state at Florida State University. However, Angelo realized he was much better at playing himself, and switched his major to Mass Media Communications. After adding two years to his college experience, Angelo joined Seminole Productions as a student-reporter, where many of his featured stories aired on Sun Sports. 

 He graduated in 2008, and after taking a year off, decided to hone his skills in the Chattahoochee Valley, joining WTVM as a sports photographer/reporter in September 2009. Covering everything and anything, from the Columbus Cottonmouths hockey team to the Indoor Football SIFL Champion Columbus Lions, and all the high school sports in between, Angelo quickly earned time behind the anchor desk and the rest is history. 

Angelo is excited to be covering the University of Florida and all the other levels of sports in North Central Florida especially area high schools.
